MicroAmp2 RF/Microwave Prototyping Boards and Housings
|
MicroAmp2 is a new series of RF/microwave prototyping boards and housings that allow for rapid construction of custom circuits in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional solutions. With the MicroAmp2 series of MB boards, a designer can quickly build amplifiers, filters, passive networks, multipliers, prescalers, log detectors, oscillators, and opamps using many popular components. A growing line of MB circuit boards are available to fit many of the industry-standard components, which can be easily assembled and mounted into shielded RF housings to create fully functional modules. Select parts from popular manufacturers such as Analog Devices, Avago, CEL, M/A-COM, Mini Circuits, RFMD, Triquint, and others.

The MH-1 housing is ideal for installing a single MB circuit board to provide a shielded, 2-port assembly with SMA connectors. Filtered bias pins and ground terminals installed in the side walls provide a complete product solutions.
|
With the MH-2 housing, two MB circuit boards can be cascased to form more complex circuits. Additional side holes are provided for additional filtered bias pins if multiple voltages or control signals are required. The flexibility of the MH-2 housing provides a time and cost saving solution to rapid prototyping.

Building A Custom Module Is Easy!

Select the boards to be used. In this example, the MB-2 is used for a SOT-86 MMIC amplifier and the MB-8 is used for a Mini-Circuits LFCN series low-pass filter.
Simply assemble the boards with standard SMT techniques. The circuits can be hand-soldered or reflow soldered.

Then drop the boards into the housing (MH-2 in this example) and fasten them in place using the screws. Bridge the two circuits together using a zero-ohm resistor, capacitor, or wire. Now just install the SMA connectors and bias feedthrough, and solder them to the boards. Add the ground terminal and the assembly is complete.
