Transmission-Reflection Test Sets



The ITS-9020 Transmission-Reflection Test Set is a flexible, modular instrumentation system designed to measure transmission loss and reflectivity of materials at various frequencies in both waveguide and free-space environments.

 

The Test Set consists of three modules that are combined to create a complete measurement system. Transmitter modules (Model ITS-9021) consist of a phase-locked dielectric resonator oscillator (PLDRO) followed by an active frequency multiplier to generate MMW frequencies in popular waveguide bands from 26 GHz to 110 GHz. The RF output goes to a variable, manual attenuator, and then connects to a transmit antenna.

 

Receiver modules (Model ITS-9022) have a similar PLDRO and multiplier combination that form a local oscillator that drives a balanced mixer. Received signals are downconverted to a fixed IF and then amplified and filtered. The IF output from the Receiver module connects to the common ITS-9020 Processing module for power detection.

 

The ITS-9020 Processor provides IF amplification, filtering, gain control, and log detection. In addition, it also supplies DC power for the remote transmitter and receiver modules as well as a 100 MHz reference for the PLDROs. An internal processor provides Ethernet connectivity and control of the various programmable parameters for the system. An integrated LCD and keypad provides a local power and status display as well as allows system parameters to be set manually.
